Every night you process your day whilst you sleep. Through this you learn the things that you learnt during the day again in your sleep!
This is true of everything. For vocabulary and texts, but also for football. So, you learn everything more quickly if you sleep well. Because you go over everything once more in your sleep, you learn extra well just before you go to sleep. Now, we don't advise that you do a whole lot of studying just before you go to sleep. But it would be quite useful to have one more look at that series of new or difficult words. At this point studying for five minutes is equal to studying for about 15 minutes during the day! Tip: when studying just before bedtime, use flash cards rather than your mobile phone or tablet. That is less tiring for your brain and therefore better for your sleep.
