Jojoschool is a new learning platform in the Netherlands comparable with StudyGo. Providing help with homework. This includes a flashcard program. Let's check it out!
The website looks clean. No strange stuff, just 'Let's make it easy!'.
You have to add a Dutch school, but we can just add "Test school". Let's change the test script: Learn French from Dutch. It does not look like we can change our learning-from language.
Lots of videos of Jojoschool on YouTube. One about "learning vocabulary" - general information. Okay for the level of a 12 year old. I don't see a tutorial video.
There is a help chat. I directly need it and it helped me just fine.
* Automatically add nice multiple-choice options + context sentences! A context sentence in one direction only, so you fixate less on one exact meaning.
* Flip the card first
* Combination: multiple choice and then writing it out
* Annoying Atari-like sound effects
3-6: practiced once. Come back again tomorrow
Strange - the second time learning it only does Mercredi. -> practice again -> same fails
It keeps saying I don't know 7 of them yet. But I just practiced them. No idea yet whether spaced repetition is built in. - they do have an info page about this.
* Why do I get a hint on a word I never got wrong, on day 3
* Took the test: boring, but ok. I really do know 3 words, but it doesn't acknowledge that yet
* Learning by typing, as you'd expect
* Ah, the learning direction matters for word knowledge. Now that I've changed it, I know 4 words and 3 not yet. Now it does have a clear 'retention score'. Nice results per word, too. The learning direction just isn't remembered (saved). I will test it again in new language, the other way around, with typing as learning method.
Easy to use:
Jojoschool is a modern app. Only webapp, no iOS/Android. But PWA works. It is OK looking, nothing special but not bad either. Most things are easy to do. You have to get used to some things. The learning direction is not so clear to me (completely different spaced-repetition results for both directions). And the addressing is a bit negative. With first focus on what you don't know: "You don't know it yet" ("Ken je nog niet"). And a negative phrase for what you do: "Crammed!" ("Gestampt!"). Therefore not the full score.
Looks like you can only be logged in on one device. Terrible if you want to learn from your computer and from your phone. And you get a very ugly, not nice "Is it you?" ("Ben jij het?") message with no exit! On the computer you can exit by jojoschool.nl. On the PWA there is no exit! I removed the app from my phone.

* Using this app is a waste of your time when you can use better ones.
* Word pronunciation is not in there.
* Just as they say "Net als WRTS van vroeger, maar dan beter" (Just like WRTS from back in the day, but better). As they clearly stole some of their design choices (good and bad).

We look at the cheapest deal. Lifetime is seen as 3 years premium. If you pay with privacy or ads less stars are earned. Then we add or subtract stars for better or worse value for money.
€16.59 per month. For a function like "Optimal practice" ("Optimaal oefenen") - e.g. to automatically put words into sentences.
I give a little bonus (+10) as this price is including other stuff and most things can be done for free.
